Storage Sunday – Upcycling an old stamp holder

Do you love finding old items in thrift shops and upcycling them? Isn’t it just the best knowing that you rescued something and reused it for something new!

The other day my hubby found this old stamp holder in an old antiques shop, almost complete with the original rubber stamps:

I adore these old wood-mounted stamps with the handles, I wish more stamps came like this nowadays! The old stamps looked practically unused and the bakelite stamp holder was in mint condition, just a little dusty. What a find!

After cleaning it up it was as good as new! A charming way to store my stamps that are mounted with these handles: jenandtricks_storagesunday_stampholder02

Of course I will try and recycle these old stamps as well, the wooden handles are so gorgeous! I think that if I am careful I can try and get the old rubber stamp off the handle an mount something else on there.

The little label that says “Stockholm” will have to stay though. A small reminder of my home town.

I hope you enjoyed this article about upcycling. Give it a go! You never know what treasures you will find! Happy Sunday!
